Principal's
Statement
Dear
Students,
One of my most memorable moments last year was when I individually
got to shake each graduate’s hand. I saw in their faces
reflected a sense of accomplishment and pride that was contagious.
I want to have the same feeling every year that I get to be
your principal. My dream is to have you at center stage, with
a big
smile while your family and friends cheer from the audience.
So, if you are an incoming senior that will happen very soon,
trust me. Time flies. If you are underclassmen, your turn will
also come.
As we get into our second year at MVAS we have big plans to make
this year even more successful. In order to be part of the success
of our school you need to be an active participant. I am starting
to develop a mantra for this coming year. Be Involved. Involvement
takes many forms and shapes. From sports, to art events, to everyday
routine acts such as getting to classes on time and every day.
That is also another form of involvement. I believe that there
is nothing that can stop the human spirit from reaching high levels.
I believe in you as a human being with dreams and hopes. We are
here to support your in achieving those dreams. Be Involved.
I am most proud
of who we are. There are very few schools in this country with
the diversity
that we experience at Crawford. MVAS
is a subset of Crawford. I expect that you will grow physically,
emotionally and intellectually during your high school years. Respect
for each other’s differences is an avenue we show our growth.
The faculty at MVAS is an exceptional team of motivated educators.
Our highest priority is your education. You are here to explore
your creative brain cells and to get an education. Your teachers
are here to provide you with an opportunity to do so. Each of you
brings special talents to our school. We need your best to make
school successful. Be Involved.
So, let’s take care of ourselves, let’s take care
of each other, and let’s take care of our school. Be Involved.
Above all, let’s have fun. Fun and hard work do not have
to be mutually exclusive.
Sincerely,
Mr. Gutierrez
Your Principal
