Mission of JROTC
To motivate young people to become better citizens

Program Description
The Crawford Educational Complex is proud of our Army Junior Reserve Officer's training corps program (AJROTC). Our program prepares high school students for responsible leadership roles while making them aware of their rights, responsibilities, and privileges as American citizens. The program is a stimulus for promoting graduation from high school and provides instruction and rewarding opportunities.

Social Activities
Cadets may join the JROTC Cadet Club, our district organization that plans, organizes and runs a fall picnic, a military ball in the spring and a five-day summer camp. Cadets will be issued 2 uniforms one will be a U.S. Army cadet uniform at no cost. They are expected to wear this uniform every Wednesday. The other uniform is a physical fitness shirt (they can purchase at a nominal fee). This shirt would be worn Monday and Friday physical training.

Program Enchancement
Tools are available in the JROTC program structure, curriculum, and activities to overcome common obstacles in education. Students enrolled in JROTC have the benefit of these interventions as well as the structure and discipine afforded by the program. JROTC is fun while it provides opportunities that cannot be found in any other program. JROTC also brings quantified and leveraged funding and support to school districts. Our instructors are experienced and qualified to teach JROTC and embedded subjects.

Benefits

  • Allows students an alternative way to get P.E. credit.
  • Emphasizes citizenship, while teaching leadership, discipline, and organization
  • If students decide to enter the armed forces, they can make approximately $450.00 dollars more each month for taking JROTC classes.
  • Provides color guard for various school events. JROTC also provides a coordinated workforce to perform as escorts, ushers, guides for special events.
  • Gives cadets the opportunity to compete on a variety of JROTC drill and physical fitness teams.
  • Encourages students to maintain high grades and apply for college scholarships.

Please note: Joining A JROTC DOES NOT put your student in the military. It also does not mean your student is obligated to join the military.
