Circle of Friends
About
Come be part of the new club on campus called Circle of Friends. This club focuses on building friendships between students with and without disabilities. It is a life changing experience for everyone involved. Students with special needs are often isolated and rarely with non-disabled peers. Circle of Friends provides the opportunity for students with disabilities to be included in their community as well as make long-time friendships. Non-disabled peers learn understanding and acceptance of differences. Through once-a-week lunches with 2-3 non-disabled peers, students with social skill challenges are able to relate to others on campus
Friendships develop through lunches, phone calls, and various activities inside and outside school. Circle of Friends members are offered community service hours for the time they spend participating.
Meetings
We will be holding an informational meeting on Jan. 7 at Lunch in room 511.
